Simply put, guidelines are general recommendations; they’re not mandatory or required. Employees who don’t follow guidelines usually don’t have anything happen to them, discipline-wise. Policies are formalized requirements that apply to a specific area or task.

Frequency: The definition of procedure is order of the steps to be taken to make something happen, or how something is done. An example of a procedure is cracking eggs into a bowl and beating them before scrambling them in a pan.
Why do we need a code of practice?
A code of practice provides detailed information on how you can achieve the standards required under the work health and safety (WHS) laws. These do not replace the WHS laws, but codes of practice can be issued to help make understanding what you have to do a little easier.
When did the Code of practice come into effect?
